Here’s a very very cool and useful piece of online software for comics authors. You can easily create fonts from your own handwriting at Fontcapture. Just go to the website, follow instructions and you’ll have your own personal font. I tried out the software and was very impressed with the results.
For a long time, I’ve been trying to create my own font but softwares like Fontforge were too cumbersome to use. With Fontcapture, I could make my own font in half an hour!
I made three fonts for use in comics using pen tablet. Of course, you don’t need a pen tablet to make them. Paper and pen will do. Here are the samples–>

One thing to take care of while creating the font is to write the alphabets in the centre of the square– there are no guides in the template.
how did u get this font template in soft form? how do u use it without printing it?
Ok, here is the process I used–
– downloaded the pdf template– http://www.fontcapture.com/template/
–opened the pdf in Gimp, saved as a PNG file.
– wrote all the alphabets on the PNG file in Gimp, using a pen tablet.
–uploaded the PNG file back to the fontcapture website.
– I got a download font link– I just downloaded the .TTF file, and installed it in my comp.
The other method, which I haven’t yet tested, is to take a printout of template, write on the printout, scan it and upload.
